once in my secondary school, somebody wrote next to my name in a school outing list “nobody wants you there”. It stayed with me till now.

All the way in school until my parents divorced and I moved to a new school and my father and I moved away. My last two years of high school was the only time in school I wasn’t tormented. I had other issues but I had friends who backed me up and protected me.

New school, skipped a grade, so I never went through Grade Four, and Grade Five to Grade Nine was name-calling and being-teased-because-I-was-smart-socially-inept-and-a-stickler-for-the-rules, among other things since day 1. It wasn’t until grade 9 that I was finally able to confess it to my dad and I had to go to the school I go to now for my GCSE and IB. Still no school friends, but no-one is bullying me right now, so at least it’s better than what I had, except that there is no garuntee that I’ll recover from the low self-esteem, perfectionism and the occasional bout of depression, and my IB mocks are underway, so even if there was a chance of recovery, there is not enough time to get started on doing that.
